Professional Innovation and Networking in the Chemical Sector

This October marked the 31st edition of the Hungarian Chemical Industry Association’s (MAVESZ) traditional conference in Eger, one of the most significant professional events in Hungary’s chemical industry. Once again, the event provided an outstanding opportunity for professional dialogue, showcasing technological innovations, and fostering connections among industry stakeholders.

During the two-day conference, participants discussed current issues in environmental protection, safety technology, and energy efficiency. This year’s highlighted theme was competitiveness, a key factor for the survival of the European chemical industry. Four Deputy State Secretaries—Daniella Deli (Climate Policy), Ádám Nagy (Industry Affairs), Győző Almási (Regulatory Affairs), and Nikoletta Keszthelyi (Environmental Protection)—offered insights into the latest developments in their respective fields.

Special attention was given to MAVESZ’s newly formed Energy Efficiency Working Group, which presented its goals and future plans in its introductory session. Another major focus was industrial digitalization and the potential applications of artificial intelligence. Sessions on regulatory tasks provided updates on changes in the legal framework, while presentations on corporate practices offered inspiration for improving participants’ own operations.

MAVESZ remains committed to supporting and developing Hungary’s chemical industry and has already begun preparations for the next conference. Please mark your calendars: we’ll meet again in Eger on October 7–8, 2026.
