The Hungarian Chemical Industry Association (MAVESZ) held its annual General Assembly on 5 May 2026, where all proposed resolutions were adopted unanimously. During the meeting, members reviewed the Association’s professional and financial performance for 2025, approved the 2026 budget, and made decisions on leadership renewal and the expansion of MAVESZ’s international relations.
The first substantive agenda items concerned the approval of the 2025 activity report, the report on the implementation of the 2025 budget, and the simplified annual financial statements. Members had received the detailed documentation in advance, and following the President’s presentation and verbal additions, they unanimously approved:

AA key agenda item of the General Assembly was the leadership election, as the mandates of the Executive Board and the Supervisory Committee expire on 31 May 2026. Based on the Nomination Committee’s proposal, members elected a new leadership team for the 2026–2030 term.
The new President of MAVESZ is László Kruppa, who will assume office on 1 June.

The Assembly expressed its gratitude to the outgoing leaders — Gábor Szikszay, László Szalay, Tibor Klement and Zoltán Bige — for their many years of dedicated service to the Association. MAVESZ will also honour their contributions at the traditional professional conference in Eger.
Members also decided that MAVESZ will join the European Chemical Regions Network (ECRN). Participation in this organisation opens new opportunities for the Hungarian chemical industry in European‑level advocacy, policy dialogue and interregional cooperation. The associated membership fee has already been included in the 2026 budget.
Following the General Assembly, MAVESZ continues its work with a renewed leadership team and strengthened international engagement, committed to representing the interests of the Hungarian chemical industry.
